In 2008, Heidi Fant was working in a local retail clothing store, when she noticed that the coffee shop next door rarely had quality baked goods which were consistent in both quality and availability. She went home that night and baked three dozen cookies and brought them to the manager of the coffee shop the following day. They proceeded to sell out before they had closed for the day and they placed another order.
 
From that first client, Heidi realized that a quality product and consistent availability were the keys to success and that it was then, only a matter of getting the word out. Through 2008-2010 the cookies were sold in many coffee shops across the tri-state, were featured at art shows, company parties, and family gatherings. After much success, the company was shelved in 2010 after an out of state move to Chicago.
 
After returning to the tri-state,  Heidi’s Homemade was always an "if only" and a particularly difficult period in her personal life gave her the push she needed to make the "if only" a reality.
